PFF Flood update 3rd september 2010

25 foot breach in FP Band in Thatta that widened up to 900 feet went far to inundate Jati Taluka .Flood water has inundated most parts of all the UCs of Jati Taluks.As a result, Massive displacement has taken place from UC Begna, UC Mured Khoso, UC Mugul Been, UC Karmalik and UC Kothi.
All 10 the villages of UC Kothi are submerged,wheras 4 villages from UC Kar Malik are inundated. Water heading towards will inundated all other villages of UC Kar malik.More than two lace people displaced from Sijawal, Jati and Meerpur Bathor has gone to
Golarchi, Tando Bago, Matli, Badin City and Talhar.stronh majority of the affectees is shelter, food and waterless. The capacity of government could not adequately respond to the situation.Indeed; onus will lay on Humantiran organization to respond the situation in terms of rescue and relief.
There is critical situation of the Soorjani Bund of Indus River which was breached up to 250 feet near Kot Almoon, after that flood water reached in Sujawal city, Belo City and other small villages. On 31 August-10, the water entered in Taluka Jati area and it was cut off through road transport from the Sujawalroad, Jati Chowk road. Only third road Khor Wah to Jati is still used for rescue operation and also near to cut off by flood water.
At this time flood water entered in the Project area union council Karr Malik and Kothi, more 15 villages are under water. All villagers have been shifted from their villages. Also 95% of citizens of Jati city have been shifted from the city.
All union councils of Jati Taluka Mureed Khoso, Kothi, Jati, Baran Abad, Karr Malik and Begna are under flood water.
After breaching in the Pinjari canal flood water entered in the city Jati, therefore we have created a camp office at PFF office Badin, which is 72 km away from the jati city.
Following Ucs of the Taluka Jati have been badly affected by flood water.

The communities of the Jati taluka have been shifted to the other big cities Hyderabad, Karachi,and majarity of poor community has been shifted to the Badin District, main cities are Golarchi,Tando Bago,Badin City,Matli,khoski,Nindo,Shadi Large,Seerani, Kario Ganhwar.
Following measures have been taking by PFF on humanitarian ground.
? PFF team has already warned to the all communities of the taluka as well as villages in project area.
? After warning by PFF and Govt: community has started for shifting to the other safe places and still more that 150,000 population have been migrated to the safe places.
? PFF has highred 8 Shahzor vehicles and started the rescue operation from the 29,August-10.
? 2 Speed boats are taking part in this rescue operation and saved 37 villagers of village Bachal Lashari situated on Pinyari Canal.
? PFF team has evacuated the 1578 H/H and 11052 population from 29-Aug,10 to 2-Sep,10, operation is under process.
? Mostly communities have been shifted to the Badin Distinct.
