Community Empowerment Project

In 2006, PFF in support with NED began its project to improve the responsiveness and accountability of local government, corporations, and other powerful interests on a wide array of issues impacting the livelihoods of fisherfolks. In this regard, PFF has been organizing district and national level events to raise awareness of fisherfolk issues. PFF also aim to strengthen the organizational and management capacity of local communities in coastal Sindh and to empower them work to protect their livelihoods and rights. For this, PFF has been conducting community meetings in more than 40 villages in Badin, Sanghar and Jamshoro districts, and organize training and capacity-building workshops.
