‘Livelihood Up gradation through Conservation of Biodiversity for Coastal Communities of District Badin’

The United Nations Office for Project Service (UNOPS) under the Global Environmental Facility/Small Grants Programme is funding for a project ‘Livelihood Up gradation through Conservation of Biodiversity for Coastal Communities of District Badin’.

Village Zero Ghungro of Ahmed Rajo Union Council & Village Kandri of Bhugra Memon Union Council District Badin Sindh
Project objectives
-awareness raising and capacity building of 5800 community members and the other stakeholders on environmental issues;
-provision of safe drinking water to 5800 community members through desalination plants (the plants will run on wind mill energy);
-rehabilitation of pre drains containing polluted water dumped by sugar mills;
-to transfer the COs towards self reliance, sustainability and active participation in the village development process through the close coordination with local government.
